DeNiM

“Je m’en fous des critiques. J’écris pour les gens comme moi.”

The name DeNiM in white font, infront of a green baobab silhouette, against a turquoise background. A smiling green, blue, and white chameleon balances on the M of DeNiM. Below is a bough of white, pink, purple flowers.

DeNiM is a daring and innovative self-taught poet and fiction writer who crafts neuroqueer romantic vignettes that challenge the world around them and are filled with a sense of urgency.

The characters who inhabit DeNiM’s works of fiction are often self-motivated, determined, and innovative thinkers who thrive on taking risks.

And like their neuroqueer creator, these characters are wholly unimpressed by tradition and unconcerned with external validation.

Born into a world that imposed strict rules on their existence, this poet found solace in words.

Curiosity has always driven their creativity, and through introspection, they have unlocked doors to vivid spaces of thought and emotion.

For a period of seven years, words felt meaningless, and their mind was too fractured to write.

However, when the urge to write returned, their tongue was untied, and their poetry became a tool to explain to themselves and others how society imposes its rules on their life and person.

DeNiM uses words to offer a glimpse into their psyche and quest for liberation, especially in the context of the traumas and diagnoses that built up over time.

Poetry is not only an outlet but also a trumpet they sound to point one of the many paths out of the oppressive modern supremacist human society in place today.

The works that spark wild thoughts in DeNiM’s mind range from speculative science fiction and magical realism to autobiographies of “ordinary” humans experiencing extraordinary circumstances.

Finally, there is a very, very special place in their heart for almost any work brought to life by earthlings who are part of the LGBTQIA2S+, and autistic communities.

You can find copies of DeNiM’s poetry and fiction at the Queer Baobab’s Ko-fi shop and on Amazon.
